My Care Journals is a private caregiver journal app. It stores your journal entries on your device and lets you use its journal features offline. An internet connection is needed for optional purchases and purchase restoration, but not for everyday journal use.
Data Collection
My Care Journals does not collect or upload your journal entries. There are no My Care Journals accounts, analytics, advertisements, or tracking. The developer cannot see the journal information you enter. Optional store purchases and messages you choose to send to the developer are described below.
Data Storage
Journal entries, journal and category identifiers, notes, and timestamps are stored locally in an encrypted database on your device. Ordinary app preferences—including theme, accent color, text size, App Lock, safety checklist state and custom items, onboarding status, Caregiver Plus access status, and the backup reminder—are stored separately as local app preferences. They are not stored in the encrypted journal database.
Local Backups
You can create encrypted local backups from the Data Management screen. The app retains up to five local backups in its private storage. When a new backup exceeds that limit, the oldest local backup is automatically deleted. You can also manually delete any listed backup. Each backup contains entries from all journals in the app. Safety checklists and app settings are not included.
Saving and Importing Backup Copies
Save a Copy opens your device’s system file picker and lets you choose where an encrypted backup copy is saved, such as Downloads, Documents, removable storage, or another available storage provider. My Care Journals does not email the file or open the system Share menu.
If you save a copy to cloud storage or later send it somewhere, that copy is handled by the service you selected and its privacy policy applies. A backup may contain your complete journal history, so treat it as a private care record.
Import Backup File lets you select an encrypted My Care Journals backup. Restoring replaces entries across all journals with the entries in that backup. The selected file is read for the restore and is not sent to the developer.
App Lock
If you enable App Lock, My Care Journals asks your device’s operating system to verify your configured device unlock, which may include a PIN, pattern, password, fingerprint, or face. My Care Journals never receives or stores your biometric information or device credentials.
Guidance and Reference Information
The app includes general caregiver guidance and reference information. Viewing this information does not contact a server or send information about you or the person you support.
Future Journals and Requests
All current journals are included at no cost, and future journals will also be free. You can suggest a journal by emailing jason@mycarejournals.com.
If you email the developer, your email address and the information you choose to include are received to respond to your message and consider your request. Your email provider also handles the message under its own privacy policy.
Offline Use and Internet Access
My Care Journals is designed for offline use. All journals offer educational guidance, safety checklists, and unlimited everyday journaling without an internet connection. Caregiver Plus tools also work offline after activation.
An internet connection may be needed to retrieve store prices, purchase Caregiver Plus, or restore eligible purchases. These store interactions do not upload your journal entries.
Optional Caregiver Plus Purchase
All journals are available at no cost. Caregiver Plus is an optional $9.99 USD one-time purchase that unlocks Appointment Reports and Trends & Charts across all current and future journals. There is no subscription or recurring charge. Prices may vary by country, currency, store, or applicable taxes. The store-displayed price before purchase applies.
Purchases are processed by Google Play on Android or the App Store on Apple devices, using your store account. The app communicates with the store to retrieve prices, make purchases, and restore eligible purchases. The store provides product identifiers and transaction information so the app can unlock Caregiver Plus. Access status is saved locally in app preferences. Journal entries are not sent to the store or developer as part of a purchase.
The app does not receive or store payment card details. The store handles payment information and purchase records under its own privacy policy and terms. Purchasing or restoring Caregiver Plus requires internet access and the relevant app store. Eligible purchases can be restored with the same account in the same store; purchases do not automatically transfer between Google Play and the App Store.
Third-Party Services
My Care Journals contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Optional purchases use the store services described above. It contains optional links to external websites. If you follow one, you leave the app and that website’s privacy policy applies.
Deleting Your Information
Uninstalling My Care Journals removes its database and app-managed local backups. Backup copies that you saved to Downloads, Documents, a computer, removable storage, cloud storage, or another location are not removed. You must delete those copies yourself.
Children’s Privacy
This app is intended for caregivers and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from children through its journal features.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted here with a revised date.
