My Care Journals is a private journaling and guidance app for caregivers. It includes Dementia, Autism, Parkinson’s, and PWS journal modules and runs entirely on your device.
Data Collection
My Care Journals does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, advertisements, analytics, or tracking services in the app. The developer cannot see anything you enter. The app does not automatically upload or transmit your journal information.
Data Storage
Journal entries, selected categories, dates, notes, and settings are stored locally in an encrypted database on your device. Information remains separated by journal within the app.
Local Backups
You can create encrypted local backups from the Data Management screen. The app retains up to five local backups in its private storage. When a new backup exceeds that limit, the oldest local backup is automatically deleted. You can also manually delete any listed backup.
Saving and Importing Backup Copies
Save a Copy opens your device’s system file picker and lets you choose where an encrypted backup copy is saved, such as Downloads, Documents, removable storage, or another available storage provider. My Care Journals does not email the file or open the system Share menu.
If you save a copy to cloud storage or later send it somewhere, that copy is handled by the service you selected and its privacy policy applies. A backup may contain your complete journal history, so treat it as a private care record.
Import Backup File lets you select a compatible encrypted backup and restore its contents. The selected file is read for the restore and is not sent to the developer.
App Lock
If you enable App Lock, My Care Journals asks your device’s operating system to verify your enrolled fingerprint, face, or device credential before opening the app. My Care Journals never receives or stores your biometric information or device credential.
Guidance and Reference Information
The app includes general caregiver guidance and reference information. Viewing this information does not contact a server or send information about you or the person you support. The app is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services.
Third-Party Services
My Care Journals contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. It may contain optional links to external websites or email apps. If you follow one, you leave My Care Journals and the external service’s privacy policy applies.
Deleting Your Information
Uninstalling My Care Journals removes its encrypted database and app-managed local backups. Backup copies that you saved to Downloads, Documents, a computer, removable storage, cloud storage, or another location are not removed. You must delete those copies yourself.
Children’s Privacy
This app is intended for caregivers and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted here with a revised date.
